October 2022 Meeting Minutes

October 17, 2022

 

Meeting opened at 6:30 PM by Mayor Guido with the Pledge to the Flag. In attendance were Mayor Louis Guido, Trustee Edward Harvey, Linda Bouck, Clerk-Treasurer, and Taylor Miles, DPW Superintendent. Also in attendance were residents JoAnn Guido, Bill Compton, Business Owners Group, and Caspar Ewig, Journalist from the Freemans Journal.

 

Approval of the August minutes as members received in written form. It was upon motion of Trustee Harvey seconded by Mayor Guido, unanimously carried, to accept the minutes as written.

It was upon motion of Trustee Harvey, seconded by Mayor Guido, unanimously carried, to accept the report as given.

 

DPW

 

            DPW Superintendent Miles discussed removing the fountain from the cemetery before it gets too cold. Also, turning off the Lithia Spring and getting that winterized. DPW Superintendent Miles asked to purchase plywood/boards to build shelving/cabinets for the newly acquired trailer for water breaks/repairs.

            Motion made by Mayor Guido, seconded by Trustee Harvey, unanimously carried.

            RESOLVED that plywood/boards may be purchased to build shelving/cabinets in the new utility trailer.

 

 

CEMETERY CLOSING

            The Cherry Valley Cemetery will be closing on November 15th. After said date there will be no burials, or access of any kind to the Cemetery.

 

OTHER BUSINESS

            Resident, and Liaison for the Business Owners Group in Cherry Valley, has notified the Board of Trustees that all business owners of Cherry Valley will be participating in Trick or Treating.  Mr. Compton also stated that the business owners are in discussion of possibly starting a new Chamber of Commerce. The business owners also wanted to thank the Board of Trustees for allowing them to use the Information Booth, and plan on making brochures that include maps of business in Cherry Valley.

            After review by the board, it was upon motion of Trustee Harvey, seconded by Mayor Guido, unanimously carried to make payment on bills and budget amendments and modifications as follows:
